Lidl features programs for the next store in Virginia Beach, this near business getting .
The German food brand name, which touts its low prices just like fellow novice Aldi, will open-shop less than half a mile from a vacant Kmart building and about a mile far from another grocery store, which may become a Publix.
It’s the latest area the intercontinental food company has scooped up in Hampton Roads.
The town accepted Lidl’s website program in November for a 35, 962-square-foot shop at intersection of General Booth Boulevard and Edison Road. Whenever complete, clients will enter Lidl’s parking area from two places on Edison Road. Plans feature 167 parking places.
Some construction-related permits were released before month and work has started at web site, but an orifice time featuresn’t already been set for specific stores, said Lidl spokesman William Harwood.
The first 20 Lidl shops in the nation will open by summer, Harwood stated in a contact. Those stores are in Virginia and the Carolinas.
In Hampton Roads, Lidl is focusing on a store on intersection of Indian River and Providence roads and another to anchor The Strand development on Warwick Drive near Lynnhaven Mall. There are plans for a Lidl on North Military Highway in Norfolk.
