Virginia ABC stores Black Friday
The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) will offer its best Black Friday sale yet on Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving and the traditional kickoff to the holiday shopping season. ABC will also participate with other retailers in its first Cyber Monday sale, offering the same discounts on a select 200 plus products available for purchase on the agency’s website.
On Black Friday, all stores will offer an in-store 10 percent discount off any purchase totaling $50 - $74.99, and a first-ever 15 percent discount off any in-store purchase totaling $75 or more (pretax, with lottery and gift cards excluded). The in-store discount applies to any of ABC’s more than 2, 800 products, from miniatures, which make great stocking stuffers, to gift sets and top-shelf specialty items. The sale does not apply to licensee purchases.
Also on Black Friday, Virginia customers may enter online or in any of ABC’s 353 stores statewide to win a $25 ABC gift card, which will be awarded to 250 winners in January 2016. No purchase is necessary to enter the gift-card drawing, and only Virginia residents will be eligible to win.
Virginia ABC will also offer its first Cyber Monday sale on Nov. 30, the Monday following Thanksgiving. On that day, customers who order select products online ( for pick up at an ABC store will enjoy the same discount—a 10 percent reduction off purchases totaling $50-74.99 (pretax) and a 15 percent discount off purchases totaling $75 (pretax) or more. Approximately 220 products will be available to order online on Cyber Monday.

Virginia ABC stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but all stores will be open on Black Friday, with 175 stores observing expanded hours, many opening an hour or two early at 8 or 9 a.m. A searchable list of Virginia ABC’s 353 stores—including brands and quantities of spirits available at each location—can be found on the agency’s updated website at

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is a major source of revenue for the commonwealth, contributing more than $1.8 billion to the general fund in the last five years. The agency currently operates 353 state stores. Its Bureau of Law Enforcement oversees more than 16, 000 ABC licensed establishments while the Hearings and Appeals Division considers more than 700 cases each year.
