LL Bean stores in Virginia
The L.L. Bean Outlet in Williamsburg Premium Outlets closed last month after 10 years in that location. A Loft Outlet and The North Face will be moving in to the space this fall.
L.L. Bean spokeswoman Carolyn Beem confirmed that the location closed July 26 because the company decided not to renew its lease.
“The Williamsburg team has done a terrific job of serving our customers for the last ten years and we’ve enjoyed serving the community, ” she said. “Each year, we examine our entire store portfolio and evaluate a variety of factors to inform store opening and closing decisions.”
The closing of the local outlet doesn’t mean the company is ditching outlets altogether. “There is still a strong need for Outlet stores as a liquidation vehicle and we will continue to review opportunities in the future, ” Beem said.
With the Williamsburg location closed, there is only one other L.L. Bean store in Virginia, located in McLean.
The space that used to house the store will be split between a Loft Outlet and The North Face, according to the . The stores are expected to open around Nov. 1.
Ann Taylor Loft sells women’s apparel and accessories; The North Face sells outdoor performance apparel, equipment and footwear.
